3. WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF CHAIRS AVAILABLE?

The Alex Zanda Aria has the chair with the lowest back in Alex Zanda range and the most similar to a standard office chair. The Sirocco has a medium height back and the Zephyr is an executive chair with high back and head rest. The Alex Zanda Alya Task Stool is for use in sit or stand environments and is fully adjustable to standard seat or bar stool height. All Alex Zanda chairs are ergonomic in that they are fully adjustable and reduce stress on the nerves, muscles, and joints of the body, common place in work environments everywhere. They provide comfort, support, breathability, and style.

4. WHY DON'T ALEX ZANDA CHAIRS HAVE ARMRESTS?

Traditionally, workplace chairs have armrests as they act to support the elbows and arms. Which, if used correctly they do. However, people tend not use armrests to support their arms. Instead, they use them to lean on and support their body weight. Arms are not load bearing joints, so leaning on elbows, supporting body weight over the course of a work week can ultimately result in neck and shoulder complaints.

Armrests also get in the way. When at the correct height for the arms, they hit the desk, which means sitting further away from the desk, perching on the chair to get closer, which is not good for posture and can lead to lower back complaints. Or, it requires reaching for the keyboard and mouse, also not good, and can lead to neck, shoulder and elbow complaints.

To counter the armrest conundrum, one might lower the chair to slide the armrests under the table. This means the chair is now too low and elbows need to be raised to get over the height of the desk, leading to neck shoulder and arm complaints.

For these reasons, Alex Zanda chairs, being ergonomic chairs that are fully adjustable and designed to encourage and support good posture while seated and working, come without armrests. This reduces stress on the nerves, muscles, and joints of the body and provides comfort, support and breathability.

5. BUT CAN I GET ARMRESTS IF I REALLY WANT THEM?

7. IS AN ALEX ZANDA CHAIR EASY TO ASSEMBLE?

You don’t get much easier than this:

1. Place the base, with wheels down, on firm level ground.

2. Place the pneumatic cylinder with the thicker end facing down into the base. It has a tapered fit and will become tighter once the chair is sat on.

3. Lastly, place the chair onto the pneumatic cylinder

Your Alex Zanda chair is now ready to sit in.

8. HOW DO I ADJUST THE HEIGHT AND RECLINE OF MY ALEX ZANDA CHAIR?

It is important to set up your Alex Zanda chair to ensure it ‘fits’ correctly and feels comfortable. The backrest of the chair is designed to follow the shape of the spine. It supports the curve in the lower back. It is recommended you sit firmly back in the chair, rather than perched forward.

The Alex Zanda chair has two adjustable options. One for recline and one for height.

The tab on the left hand side, as you sit on the chair, controls the recline position. Lift the tab up to release and allow the chair to recline freely. Push the tab down to lock the recline of the chair in a single position.

Adjust the recline tension, or springiness of the chair, by turning the wheel on the right side control. Rotate forward to increase tension, or backward to decrease tension.

The tab on the right hand side, as you sit on the chair, controls the height. When seated in the chair, lift the tab up and your weight will push the chair down to its lowest point. Take your weight off the chair by standing up and lifting the tab. The chair will now push back up to its highest position. To lock the chair at a height, simply release the tab once the desired height is achieved.

Ideal chair height is when seated fully pushed back on the chair, thighs parallel to the ground and feet, resting comfortably, flat on the ground.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the comfort of your Alex Zanda chair.

9. WHAT MAKES A CHAIR ERGONOMIC?

The height and recline of the chair should be easily adjustable with pneumatic adjustment. The chair can be adjusted so your feet are flat on the floor and thighs parallel to the ground.

The chair should offer lumbar support with the backrest following the shape of the spine and supporting the curve in the lower back. It is recommended you sit firmly back in the chair, rather than perched forward.

The chair should be stable on wheels and be easy to rotate, giving you the freedom to move without straining.

An ergonomic chair provides comfort, support, breathability and ultimately, wellbeing while seated.

10. CAN AN ERGONOMIC CHAIR IMPROVE HEALTH?

Ergonomic office chairs certainly have a great impact on health and wellbing. Not only do they reduce discomfort when you sit for extended periods of time, they also help support and improve seating posture. You can relax and focus on the job or project at hand. They help reduce stress and provide positive energy and clarity when working.
